The Magic of ReikiThe magic of Reiki heals bodies and transforms lives. It did mine. Spreading around the world like a flame, the practice of Reiki is ancient and yet evolving and expanding like the Universe itself. Much has been written about Reiki, yet the mystery remains. How ancient is it? Or is it eternal and ever-present? If so, how ancient is the knowledge about it? Did Christ heal with Reiki? Did Buddha? What exactly is the magic of Reiki?
And you thought you will find the answers here, ha? With more questions then answers, I do have few thoughts on the subject as well as some knowledge I’ve collected throughout the years which I intend to share with you on these pages.
Definition of Reiki
The word Reiki is made of two Japanese words - Rei which means "God's Wisdom or the Higher Power" and Ki which is "life force energy". So Reiki is actually "spiritually guided life force energy."
Oh my inquisitive mind, always questioning, never satisfied!
Here comes the question. Is Reiki an external force that flows through one and heals? Or is it One who has unlimited power to heal? Is becoming a Reiki practitioner just a permission for the person to unleash his God power, power to heal, power to manifest?
For One is already powerful beyond any limitations. Reiki is a tool to realize that potential. A very powerful tool indeed. At least, that’s the way I understand it.
However; half Devine, half mortal, I suffer from insecurities like many others. So when I heal with Reiki, I visualize the top of my head opening up to the energy of Reiki and I let it flow through me. At times, I think when I do Reiki I become a vessel, an empty cable for the transmission of Devine energy.
Either way, the Magic of Reiki is ever loving, always available an awesome healing energy. For Reiki is love. Love heals. Love has no limitations. Nothing is beyond healing.
What I know for sure?
I know that Reiki works. Not only it works, it’s awesomely powerful. When I first became attuned to Reiki, I felt the energy in my hands right away. To be more accurate, some time before the attunement, my hands started to feel rather strange at times. I would feel odd tingling and numbness in my hands. I felt energy I didn’t know what to do with. As I received my first attunement, it all came together. I felt everything right away, the waves of energy when I first laid my hands on my classmate and her aura. It felt like I always knew how to do it.
When I went home the same night, my boyfriend complained of back pain. Timidly, I offered him healing. Not only his pain went away, but he felt powerful heat coming from my hands, his whole body felt on fire, which frightened him for he never experienced anything like this before.
As I laid my hands on numerous people and send healing long distance, I witnessed the magic of Reiki over and over. To this day I am in awe of the power of Reiki.
Once the person is attuned to Reiki, he is forever linked to this awesome force. One can never loose this connection no matter what. Simply laying on hands will turn this energy on, no need to focus, or visualize. However, most of Reiki practitioners I know, myself included, like to focus on the magic of Reiki flow. It just feels so wonderful, it’s a natural high.
Reiki is not a religion or doctrine. No matter what the person’s believes are, Reiki will harmonize their life on many levels.
The magic of Reiki is a specific way of sharing God’s energy. Reiki is a way of loving. A way of sharing our wholeness and divinity. The five Reiki Principle Just for today, I will not anger
