Cho Ku Rei - Power Symbol

Cho Ku Rei is one of the most used Reiki symbols.

Cho Ku Rei - Reiki Healing Symbol
Translation mean:
Cho – full
Ku – ceremonial vessel
Rei – transcended mystery, Holy Spirit or Universal Life Force

The literal translation is: “FILL THIS WITH THE CREATIVE OR HOLY SPIRIT”

This symbol makes a statement or command to the Universe to “PUT THE POWER HERE!”

There is some controversy as to which direction it should be drawn. Some people use clockwise direction for one purpose and counterclockwise for another. Traditionally, Cho Ku Rei is drawn counterclockwise and that is how I always use it. In Usui Reiki system, that is the way the student was attuned to the symbol and that is the way it has power for the student.

Using Cho Ku Rei

I often draw this power symbol with my dominant hand in front of me before beginning healing. It is a trigger for me to focus energy. My first Reiki Master, Terry Rogers, taught me that when you can’t draw it with your hand to draw it with your tong inside your mouth. By the way, try to keep your mouth shut while doing it or you might be slightly misunderstood.

Another way is to visualize it. After Luciano was hurt in a bad car collision, I did Reiki to him every day. As I held my hands over his chest, in my mind, I could see his chest muscles on fire. I visualized drops of rain falling on his chest, cooling the fire, Cho Ku Rei in every drop.

When beginning a Reiki treatment, it is a good idea to place your non-dominant hand on the client (ie, their shoulder) as you draw the symbols over their crown chakra (the top of their head). This will create a strong connection between you and a person. When the session is finished the simple way to disengaged from other person’s energy field and to ground yourself is to wash hands in cool water or to press all your left hand fingers against your right hand fingers.

Use this symbol to set up a field of protection around yourself, your loved ones, your home or your car. I use it automatically every time I get in my car. I also say in my mind that I will get to my destination safe, without traffic and in perfect timing.

Draw it with your hand to clear energy in the room. To set up a sacred space, put it in each corner of the room.

Draw Cho Ku Rei and Sei He Ki on your medication or vitamin bottles to increase the benefit and minimize the side effects. You can also write words like Love, Perfect Health, and Gratitude.

I always charge my water with living energy drawing this powerful symbol over the glass.

I draw it over the pot or pen when I cook and over the plate before serving it or eating it.

Sometimes, when I help my boyfriend at his restaurant , I draw Cho Ku Rei over the customer plates before serving them.

I just thought of something. I need to draw Sei He Ki and Cho Ku Rei on Luciano’s cigarette pack! I will report if I see any changes in his smoking addiction. Of course, I will ask for his permission first. Don’t forget, free will should always be respected.

Draw Reiki power symbol over the money to attract prosperity.

When I was working on some of my past issues, I would draw a picture of the person or situation I was forgiving and I draw Reiki symbols.

I draw Cho Ku Rei with my hand over my computer screen when I write these pages.

Draw it over crystals and gemstones to help program your intended use.

It will increase the effectiveness of flower essences, essential oils and gem elixirs.

You got the point. The uses of this powerful symbol are numerous. Experiment and come up with some of your own. Then share it with us! REIKI IS YOUR BEST TEACHER.
